What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
registration works without filling the captcha

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
Joomla Captcha 4.5.1 Plugin 
Patch Joomla 1.5.15 for Joomla Captcha 4.5.1 
patch for VirtueMart 1.1.3 for Joomla Captcha 4

Please provide any additional information below.
Try different configuration
works for other forms

I had to use SecuryImage for the register page
