Can't hear music on Nexus One

I have installed an mpd server on my macbook and can view the playlists,
tracks, etc from PMix; however, when I play music I don't hear any audio. I
added osx as an output and can hear music from my laptop speakers and
control it via the PMix interface.

Should I be able to actually listen to music on my phone's speaker? I have
"Stream" and "OSX" as my listed outputs and when "Stream" is selected, I
only get silence.

If this isn't the way it works, is there any plan to support this use of PMix?

I do not think this feature is considered yet. However, I had the same wish and 
made
a patch to implement this feature. Will attach it this evening, maybe it gets 
included.

This is the patch. Also includes parts of mrsnowflakes patch (issue 5, the "fast
scroll" modification and translation) and a fix to scroll to the currently 
playing
song upon showing the playlist (issue 33). Also includes a speedup when showing 
a
large playlist.
If you are interested, but just want parts or single patches for single 
features,  I
can provide them until the end of next week (this week is quite busy).

This would be an amazing feature! I've been looking for a simple way to stream 
my
music library when I'm away from home. Not to mention, the app is 9-10ths of 
the way
there.

At the moment its not possible to play on your phones speaker, so you should 
hear the
sound at your laptops speakers. Check your mpd configuration and try with 
another mpd
client... 
You probably have an output called "Stream" which creates an mp3 stream. You 
could
open that on your android with another player, but that would not be that 
handy...
