What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Insert SD Card
2. Select English, continue, Install PRS+, Continue

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
"Failed, check log for errors"

The log:
Copying tools to /tmp... OK
Saving BootImg...
!!!ERROR!!! Error in doExec: Failed to execute cat
/dev/mtdblock9 > /Data/1.2.00.18050.boot.1

Obviously enough I expected the installer to do something and report
success

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
From the "About to install PRS+" screen:
Sony Firmware: Installer-1.1.00.18040 eBook-1.2.00.18050
PRS+ Firmware: Installer-1.0.2 eBook-n/a
PRS+ Script: Installer-1.0.2 eBook-n/a

Please provide any additional information below.
I get the "Your firmware version is not supported. If you install PRS+,
your firmware will be overwritten with supported version. (backup will be
made, so that you could restore it later)" message due to odd firmware
version (obviously enough).

When attempting to do backup I get the same sans "Copying tools to /tmp...
OK".

Probably not enough free space on Internal Memory, please trz to free some
space.
You'll need about 30+ megabytes for the backup.

Probably caused by not enough memory. Recommended way is to update to
1.1.00.18040
using modified Sony Updater.
