What would it take to get cpu and gpu color coordinated on a distribution of elementary, tails or TENS?

That is not going to happen. The focus of this project is to have software that you can set hue+ LEDs with and then close and forget about it. I won't be adding any monitoring capabilities. I suggest you use other software to achieve that.
