ghci - no interactive shell

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. run "ghci" in plush

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?

I expected to see a job rectangle which allows me to enter commands and icons 
for EOF, quit, kill etc. Instead I don't get the line to enter commands in the 
ghci job rectangle nor the icons, and I can't interact with ghci.

Btw ccmake also doesn't seem to work either.
