What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Drag and drop the gradient rectangle shape

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
A rectangle with gradient color

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
pencil 1.1 build 1. SO Ubuntu Linux and Firefox 3.6.3

Please provide any additional information below.

Solved by upgrading to pencil 1.2 build 3003101501
