This app wiped my iPod too. Used it on a macbook with os x 10.4. Mp3s were all
still
there, including their data and artwork, but they wouldn't play instead staying
at
0:00. When iPod connected to iTunes, the files would not play in iTunes either.
I was using iPoddisk in conjunction with two iPods at once (a classic and a
nano
that I bring to the gym). The wiping issue occured to both iPods. Not ALL songs
became corrupted, but 90% or so. Seems to be no discrimination whatsoever in
how or
what types of files became corrupt versus which stayed normal. When I delete
corrupted tracks and replace them with their original files they work fine
again.

I have since discovered the problem. Some like on the very site led me to an
extremely old version of
MacFUSE. A version that had no settings icon in system settings, installed
itself all over my macbook and
could not be deleted easily.
This caused not only ipoddisk to wipe my ipod repeatedly, but totally screwed
my macbook up. nothing
worked, applications open and closed randomly, i lost lots of files. My brand
spanking new aluminum
macbook with Mac OSX 10.5 with the latest updates and patches, had become
completely unusable.
Using my old Windows PC which i dug out and dusted off, i was able to get on
the internet and figure out
what went wrong. i found the newest version of MacFUSE which, against my
instincts, I installed on my Mac.
This had the effect of removing all the hundreds of files installed by the
older version. At least it would seem
so.
My Mac is running perfect now, no problems whatsoever.
I am, however, apprehensive about installing ipoddisk again.
It is totally unacceptable how this application is presented here. The fact
that I was somehow led to this
ancient version of MacFUSE is very negligent. I expected more from Google.
