Currently, because essentially every request has to be routed through two free servers, we can get pretty big lags. (On top of that, we're doing very inefficient userdata updating.)
As a result, the page sometimes looks like it broke, when really it is just waiting for the ajax response.
A loading spinner is needed to inform the user that all is well--just slow.
