The link provided at https://webpg.org/?view=downloads for Chrome https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/webpg/hhaopbphlojhnmbomffjcbnllcenbnih is broken. Did not find the WebPG extension with search either. Is the project dead?

Currently Mailvelope seems to be a good alternative of using OpenPGP key pair. Available as Firefox extension and Chrome extension. Without OpenPGP there is possible to encrypt the text with AES 256-bit using Encipher and protect it with password. Text can be given also via file. It has only Chrome extension and independent app for GNU/Linux and MS Windows. Can be used for simpler situation where people would not like to generate key pair and share it.
