BE Refactor #212

Fixes some issues in issue #140

Extract retrieving of user from auth info to separate method defined in graffiti.py
Extract error generating response method to graffiti.py
More explicit exception handling for parameters passed in
audCode name change refactor is irrelevant with these changes, issue #111

Tested locally with local and prod DBs.
