Background Music doesn't seem to do anything #269

I'm writing on behalf of a friend who owns a mac but doesn't speak english very well.

So he's on version 10.15.2 and he installed it using the .pkg file but even after restarting his computer, the app doesn't seem to work. We've checked the sound settings and there is one with the name of the app but he can't change the output device.

Any help would be appreciated!

Same. Changing volume for particular app does not change anything. Only master volume works.

Facing the same. Changing volume for some app does not change volume on latest macOs version. Installation of Background Music was done using brew. And after that restarted my machine.

  1. Works for some apps Example: VLC

  2. Does not work for some of the Apps Example: Chrome (Tried controlling volume of all apss within Background music)

  3. Works differently for some apps (Weird Behaviour - May be due to app design) Example: WhatsApp (Does not work directly for WhatsApp, We have to control WhatsApp Helper's Volume)

Volume Control:

Same issue but on Mojave. The only apps I've tried so far are Chrome (playing YouTube) and PlexAmp.
