I have the same problem with both ver. 0.4.0 and 0.3.2 and I'm not using Big Sur.
version: both 0.4.0 snapshot and 0.3.2 macOS: Mojave

Oh I just fixed it. You need to change the output device in Zoom Preferences (to either BM specifically or Same as System). It didn't work because somehow it was set to be built-in speaker.

thanks! this worked for me too
Unfortunately, the above solution suggested for zoom, does not work for Microsoft Teams.
Teams simply ignores BGM even though the output is set to Background Music.
@Amir-Zucker have you checked out #481? There are a lot of helpful responses on there, which I sort of summarised.

@m00ok since the issue has been resolved by setting BGM as the speaker on Zoom, please consider closing the issue 😊
This returns very distorted audio from Zoom 0.3.2 macOS: Monterrey
The volume mixer doesn't affect zoom; when I move the slider left and right it doesn't affect my zoom volume but it works fine for other apps.
