Favorites button not working with recent WP updates #119

Hello, I've used this plugin in the past and found it amazing but appears it no longer works on the latest version of Wordpress...?

Using twentyseventeen theme and all other plugins disabled, nothing happens when I click the favorite shortcode.

I've tried using plain shortcode, specifying a post ID etc but not working. Anyone else seeing the same or found a solution? I noticed this plugin hasn't been updated in 7+ months so hopefully it is still maintained - it normally works perfectly and something I would definitely pay for as a premium plugin.

I have a similar problem. But I'm not sure is the version of Wordpress. I click on the button, I get the "Favorited" confirmation but as soon as I refresh the page, it resets. So no favorite gets saved. And I'm not getting any kind of errors even with the dev. mode on. Tried your solutions as well, it didn't work. I'm actually here to dig the solution to this same problem. Also willing to pay to fix this kind of problem.

Hey @MattBonacini & @austinsparx,

I'll take a look at this issue and get back to you ASAP. A lot has changed in WordPress over the past year and it's possible that some of these additions are not playing nice with the current iteration of the favorites plugin.

Hi @GFargo, thanks for the reply.

I've solved my issue, let me know if it works for you as well. In my case I've tried all the possible debugging solutions for wordpress, I even went further and completely deleted the plugin & the plugins data in the db. Me and a coworker thought that maybe there was an error data with that.

But in the end what did solve the problem was going to WordPress settings and set the domain to HTTPS. I had the site url set on HTTP. Everything else on the website was still working so I was unaware of the problem. As soon as I've set HTTPS in the url option of wordpress everything started to work again.
