A final wrap up scrum report to talk about what you did in the last two weeks, and what you would hypothetically work on if you were to continue on the project.

1. what you’ve worked on in the previous two weeks, I did some code cleanup and logo updating, but mostly just practiced demo runs with my team and filled in the readme.

2. what you would hypothetically work on if you were to continue on the project I would have liked to work on the Piazza/Slack/Discord bot integration feature to both collect data and give responses on the platform. This would decrease the burden of professors having to manually train the model.

• Worked on hooking up backend of data analytics to frontend; cleaned up some dependencies and changed libraries, and worked on the presentation

what you would hypothetically work on if you were to continue on the project

• Adding more functionality to data analytics and developing a more specialized platform for professors to view specific analytics

what you’ve worked on in the previous two weeks, I helped with theme change and search UI enhancement (adding a search nav at the top), and small bug fixes here and there. I also worked on writing the readme, making presentation slides/script and practicing the demo with my team.

what you would hypothetically work on if you were to continue on the project I would like to pick up the ticket to build a better automatic model training UI and allow professors to delete any unused or outdated training data from our database.

What did you work on this past iteration (2 weeks)?

• Completely changed the colour scheme of our project by implementing a custom Chakra UI theme. The team helped with styling individual components.
• After realizing there was a 30 second request timeout within Heroku, implemented polling for course training and long GPT responses. Previously, our deployed application was throwing errors.
• Implemented a dynamically sized text area for user input, capable of handling any length of text. This was an improvement on the previous text input.
• Fixed numerous bugs and cleaned up some of the code.

What you would hypothetically work on if you were to continue on the project?

• Schedule meetings with the team, and possibly industry professionals, to further discuss ethical, learning, bias, accessibility, and other related issues relating to using CourseGPT in an academic setting. Then work to mitigate, or prevent them from happening entirely.
• Rewrite the entire project in TypeScript to promote the possibility of a large-scale, long-term project
• Work away from leveraging ChatGPT's API, and towards building our own AI, both greatly enhancing security and control, but also reducing highly latent responses when ChatGPT's API has high demand.

What you’ve worked on in the previous two weeks:

• Added the copy to the clipboard feature to improve UX and worked with the rest of the team to prepare for the final presentation and project documentation.

What you would hypothetically work on if you were to continue on the project:

• Add a feature to change your password if you forget it and implement two-factor authentication. Implement the feature to upload your own avatar for the profile leveraging AWS S3 buckets.
