In production networks, sometimes certain resource creation shouldn't happen during a period of time, for instance, EVC creation or updates shouldn't be happening during an actual network matainance. So, a sort of control such as allowing an admin to temporarily unregister or register the endpoints again is desirable to have.
Ideally, this should be solved at a reserve proxy level with nginx, but the issue is being mapped to also be useful for an initial discussion or to capture requirements. Also, @italovalcy has architected the deployment with nginx, and it's been working well as expected, so if it's entirely possible to solve on nginx that's even better minimizing the surface of potential bugs and code maintenance on our end.
