Should this be pushed to the main branch? I guess there aren't any outstanding issues.

In principle yes I am a bit concerned because I was looking at some results for a matrix and they look weird.

ah, how so? P.S.: In any case the development here doesn't break the rest of the code and it is an enhancement to the code that is done even if few bugs can still appear. I'd vote for merging so that branches don't live too long.

Should we merge this finally? Just talking to Marco Nava and would probably be better to start new developments from a joint branch :D
