i mean look part of it is a track you get on the tract by doing well your first year and year and half i mean honestly first impressions are everything you do well your firrst 3 months people like you you say yes to everything you're setting the standard you work really hard you're good frankly team member and you're not weird they can bring you to a meeting you're not gonna be weird

i play baseball in whole life i've been in a locker rooms all these middle market biz are run by bunch of people that like to talk about sports So, i could go to a meeting and soot the hit with some guys that like baseball and talk to them about my glory years. and they love that so being able to be normal helped a lot

what would be weird that they ask about base ball and i don't know what that is that is weird the weirdest thing in the meeting in my opinion is present yourself as like better than them in some way this is big big risk in private equity and finance in genenal cause i went stanford. we hiring kids that wen Princton, Harvard, and stanford all these like elite pedigreed kids. and if you took one of the to a meeting in the middle of Kansas and into guy's company who's running playset biz doing 300M of revenue 50M of ebay airplane hanger in his back but he's from Kansas. he grew up there. he hasn't gone these fancy school but he's unbelively successful. and you bring an analyst that is alomost like talking down to him in a certain way because they feel they're so smart they went to school. that's really bad. you can't have that be type of relationship that get set i saw that a bunch you see, analyst all the way up to director that would like give off and air of superiority and it's like costal thing and i think it's a bad thing in general we've seen it societal is country but that is weird and that really hard to excellate if you're that.

so what do you do if you see that? do you pull aside then 'hey you gotta cool it' or you just let them do their thing and they'll knida fall into place

it depends who you are as a senior person. we had people that would give feedback very directly and that was great i've always been big on like give me the feedback right away

so i wanna be able to improve that's from athelete background that's what i believed in some people didn't do that

then you'd get your year in and you'd get first review hey you're doing not so great you wonder why? cause you haven't been given right away i think you have to tell the person right away

usually they don't mean anything negative thing by it it's not like trying to be condescending or trying to give off that vibe just they wen to a fancy private school in NY and they went to Harvard and they got the fancy private equity job

they've only been around that type of culture and you get put into different environment you have to learn how to adapt.

i had go to cat fish farm in Lusinea to go like see how the cat fish are going on a conveyer belt once that was a pretty weird request we're looking investing in this cat fist farm people wanted to see it actually in action

and look i am 23 getting out of school i thought that is cool thing this is like amazing i was down in middle of tx going and driving like field make sure that this pump jacks are working it was like amazing experience when you say yes, you get to see all these things

i mean the first type is blind luck. this is just like what we think of as a luch frankly
