Just wanted to share my setup with scallion. We have build a dedicated machine for mining .onion vanity names based on Ubuntu 16.04 below is a link with pictures!

Hardware: The specs are as follows: 1x Radeon RX580 8G , Celeron CPU 4GB RAM Software: AMD Radeon Pro drivers for Linux, Mono 4 and scallion.

and link to blog post

Blog Post with some more details :)

Note: I noticed that many people are finding it difficult to run scallion on Ubuntu 18.04 with Mono. I figured out that the way to run scallion with Mono is by using Ubuntu 16.04 .

A issue is a weird place to share it :D But I am not complaining it looks nice. Also thanks for the note on the Ubuntu version.

Noted, Thank you!

@Irdroid What sort of hashspeeds are you getting out of the RX580?

With this setup around 2,3 Giga hashes per second. Now the machine has one more RX580 GPU .

So I assume you're running two separate instances of Scallion since there is no SLI support(to my knowledge)? Also, my righ has an RTX 2080 ti, getting around 10.5GH/s, but I'm considering also putting in an additional card, so I'm curious as to if your speeds scaled or if it seems bottlenecked.

The search is probabilistic, the cards does not mine in parallel so to speak , but the probability to find the desired prefix increases and yes , the prefix is found faster. Example:

Mining for a 10 character prefix both cards show around 3 days as an estimate, but one of the cards discovers the prefix faster than the other. There is pure chance of luck in this equation.
