I started using the thexem related branches a few days ago and really happy with them.

Something that might be a nice expansion of xem is the ability to link specific special filenames to their episodes. something that could be used for unique named specials so tools can find and process them.

glad to hear it works for you ^^ a filename and/or a hash for episodes is "planed" at least we thought about it. issue is it just adds a whole new level of complexity, you would need additional "virtual" scene entities the hold additional information to cope with filename / hash specific mapping. well at least thats one solution i thought of. this would also not be limited to specials but also cover issues where the scene groups have different numberings

well numbering can be complex, especially the overlaps that are happening right now.

I'm just looking for all the content that is harder to get automatically. there's lots of shows I search out the specials time to time by hand. Would be nice if I could just drop them into something like thexem to help out others. one hand helps the other.

specials is a pita to do because of the lack of authorized source.. and the fact that the sources we could use (scene/tvdb) do not stick by a numbering scheme or are in the habit of changing it at will. just go look at Top Gear (UK) for the last few years.. 90+ episodes that they have renumbered countless times... personally i do not want to touch specials. also then there are things like dvd extras... which never aired.. (thus shouldnt be on tvdb) and then you have movies based off the show.. like topgear's movies.. some people think these should be thrown into a tvshow's specials.. only recently can you associate a tv show with a movie (xbmc).
