Reported by timmie on 29 Oct 2010 07:43 UTC Hello, when installung GRASS on Windows or Linux, please make the installer associate the gxw files with the GRASS executable.

This would enable users to restart working on saved projects by just clicking on the gxw filws in the file explorer.

Thanks.

Comment by neteler on 21 Aug 2012 18:45 UTC I suppose that this is OS specific. For example, one of many needed changes:

Comment by wenzeslaus on 7 Jun 2018 02:35 UTC This depends on https://trac.osgeo.org/grass/ticket/3575 because it needs the path to mapset (the saving to the workspace part of https://trac.osgeo.org/grass/ticket/3575). Than the grass executable needs to read the .gxw file and use database/location/mapset (full mapset path) from there instead of expecting it in the command line, reading it from .grass7/rc file, or showing Startup window.

Comment by wenzeslaus on 17 Sep 2018 04:04 UTC Now (v7.7) possible because d/l/m are in the workspace (https://trac.osgeo.org/grass/ticket/3575).
