issue with user control measurement #8

Closed EAAeby closed 4 years ago

EAAeby commented 6 years ago

Hello! Here are the errors I got with the user control measurement. Sadly I don't have a qr code reader and figured that it would come to the same if I would just post it there. Hope it is ok. I was wondering if it is an issue with the setup I did of youscope, or if it is truly a bug. Let me know if you need anything else. Best, EAAeby

Hi, It's even better to use this contact channel. Can you provide some information on what exactly you did when the error occurred? Best would be a minimal series of "button clicks" which is sufficient to trigger the error. Also, there should be log and error files both in the measurement save folder as well as in the YS main folder. I need either of both. Note that the logs in the YS main folder are overridden every time you (re-) start YS. These are txt files, and you can check if they are the right ones of they contain all displayed error messages, plus some additional information. Just to double check: You have a vanilla (unmodified) YS installation (which version?), and you actually did not try to set the exposure to zero, a negative value, or an incredibly small value (I don't check everywhere user inputs for "sanity")? Are you using multiple cameras? Best, Moritz

Hi Moritz,

Thanks for your quick reply! Here are the information you required

What I did / minimal button clicks:

I added in appendix to this email the full measurement "Test_for_Moritz" and the log and error files from Youscope.

I have the Version "YouScope R2017 [build: 2.1.0-beta.4]", I did not modify the source code of the software, so if I understand it right I have a vanilla version here.

I use only one old Hamamatsu camera.

I added specifically that I want to have an exposure of 2 ms to avoid that kind of issue. However, when I start the user control measurement, the measurement starts without exposure and imaging period. If I close the measurement and start the live imaging, everything works fine there. So, no, I haven't typed in those values by hand. I understand your sanity measures!

I hope this answers all your questions. If not please let me know and I will change that ASAP.

Best, Elise

PS: YouScope is broadly used at the ETH in Basel but sadly not so much on Hönggerberg in Zürich. I am trying to change that! I love your program!

Hi Elise, thanks for your description. I could reproduce and fix the error (it was a bug, sorry for that). Until when do you need an updated version?

Hi Moritz,

Thank you so much for the super quick answer and fixing! And I am very sorry for the very late answer. There are way to go around it and just write down the metadata separately and save every picture separately. So it would be nicer with, but I can live without it. So when it would work for you!

Best, Elise
