debian packages #123

Testing, distribution and maintenance would be greatly simplified if LT would provide a way to package it as .deb package. This would also allow creation of repository which will make installation on Debian and Ubuntu trivial.

If anybody from the community is going to work on this we'd be happy to accept patches. Chances that someone from the core team is going to work on this is close to zero I guess...

Many people have shown interest in getting it packaged for Debian (and downstream distros): https://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=403619. Last update is from 2012

Remaining issues:

The question is, what can we do now to help the process of getting LT into Debian?

Get all the packages updated and make the dictionaries be built during the package build (see above).

And then someone needs to do the package and maintain it :-)
