such as 3 with e, 4 with r, 5/6 with t, 7 with y, 8 with i, 9 with o.
The incorrect keys are dependent on the keyboard layout. (Admittedly, a standard English layout, but are all keyboard layouts the same in all languages? A person can use a French keyboard to type English text.)
Possible quick win. Make a rule that says "this word contains a digit. Make sure that the word is correct."
@danielnaber @MikeUnwalla we should be careful. This will cause IMO more false alarms than it helps. There are so many product and brand names that contain a combination of letter and digit. (Airbus A380, BMW M3, DinA4, ...)
@tiff , I agree that we should be careful.
We could make a rule for lower-case letters only. I think that very few organizations use lower-case+digit as a name.
Also, we could make a rule that we use for development only to find company names that contain upper-case letters and digits and that are not tagged as proper nouns.
Checking words with numbers will cause plenty of false positives. Everyone uses l33t once in a while.
