The spack package currently offers a +doc variant which pulls in some requirements, but then doesn't use them. The CI currently basically uses the Makefile and pip to build the docs. Ideally there would be a way to build the documentation and install it via CMake too, so it can be used in the Spack package when the variant is selected. Otherwise drop the variant and dependencies completely.
