Is your feature request related to a problem? Please describe.
Short of asking in Slack, there isn't a straightforward way for people to find Lansing Codes' Code of Conduct, how it's enforced, or how to report violations.
Describe the solution you'd like
The Lansing Codes website could host a page that contains all of this information. We could link to the page (e.g. lansing.codes/code-of-conduct) from Slack, the website's main page, events, etc.
A link to the Code of Conduct on the main page (www.lansing.codes) would also be extremely helpful.
An email group such as safespace@lansing.codes would also be useful to anyone looking to report an issue or ask questions. This could be shared within the Code of Conduct and separately.
Describe alternatives you've considered
Currently when anyone asks about the Code of Conduct, they are referred to the Contributor Convenant Code of Conduct 2.0. This is the code that we currently embrace and enforce, but it is lacking details about enforcement and how to contact a Lansing Codes representative.
Additional context
Once the page is in place, it would be helpful for the community organizers to also more consistently share the Code of Conduct as a link in their events/groups.
For example, the following text adapted from the Women Who Code Portland group could be appended to the description of Lansing Codes events. Credit to the WWCode Portland group for this text can be added to the bottom of our Code of Conduct page along with the Contributor Covenant.
🤝 Code of Conduct
Lansing Codes is dedicated to empowering everyone who participates or supports us. We welcome anyone exploring how technology can help them grow, whether professionally or as a hobby. We do not tolerate harassment in any form.
