Loader isn't working/running

Hi,

I just downloaded this utility for the FOV changing functionality (was already using fps-unlock, wanted to move to this). I tried running the loader as administrator, but the window for the loader stays open only until Genshin starts. Once it does, the loader disappears/crashes, and can't be found in task manager either.

Any advice/dependencies I'm missing for the utility to make it run smoothly?

Windows 10/x64 (Version 10.0.19045.3393)

There is no configuration file being generated in the My Documents folder either.

That is the intended behavior, once the loader disappears just wait for the menu to pop up in-game. If it doesn't then make sure you don't have any third-party overlays installed, such as MSI Afterburner or the Discord Game Overlay.

Ah, it could be RTSS conflicting with the utility then, got it.

I disabled RTSS hooking for Genshin to test it out, but it didn't work..Does it have to be uninstalled for the utility to work?

I made it work by creating a cfg in the RTSS ProfileTemplates folder for GenshinImpact.exe.cfg and making sure hooking is disabled.

Well, it's kind-of working on and off. It's very iffy..

I launch it as administrator, start the game after that, but it decides to not work. Confused as to what's causing this after my attempted fix above

I wanted to move completely from genshin-fps-unlock, but it's not reliable enough to yet for my system for some reason.

Can you elaborate? What's exactly not working?

The utility menu doesn't show up in the game. The loader disappears/crashes without any indication (checking via task manager)

You can run the loader through CMD to get some output, but remember to run CMD as administrator. If it says that the loading was successful and the menu still doesn't pop up then I'm 99% sure it's some overlay interfering.

No errors on the CMD prompt. I have no overlays (Discord is off, RTSS turned off via the above method)

I'm not sure of how to find if there's any other overlay interfering..Stuck here 😢

Just to clarify, are you using the Genshin Impact launcher? There was someone with a similar issue before and it didn't work because they were opening the game .exe directly.

I was opening the exe directly. Let me try with the launcher once and see if the consistency improves.

I have NO idea why that worked, but now the utility is working properly. Maybe you should add that to the instructions/readme haha

This might seem like a stupid question, but does the loader interact with/interfere with the game's connectivity in any way? Using it vs without, I'm seeing a lot more "Connecting..." dialog boxes, which wasn't the case earlier. The connection is how it's always been.

No, this tool does everything in the simplest way possible and it shouldn't affect your performance or connection at all. It might be a coincidence.

Thanks, it was a coincidence after all. One concrete observation is that the artifacts page (the leveling up screen) is discolored only when using the utility. Very minor niggle, but bug nonetheless. Thanks for the excellent tool.
