[FR]Easy adding/manipulation/removing of items in table #1

Open OmniNaut opened 2 years ago

OmniNaut commented 2 years ago

Although it is possible to enter/manipulate/remove items in a dataview table, I reckon it can be made more user friendly.

I came along this plugin for Obsidian: Notion Like Tables (NLT) https://github.com/trey-wallis/obsidian-notion-like-tables. I did not test it out, but maybe you can check it out and hopefully be able to integrate for a more Notion like experience.

Keep up the good work.

@OmniNaut, thanks for the suggestion and the hint to NLT. I just checked NLT. It's a great plugin for tables. But it doesn't support dataview. The table item must be input manually. Adding a similar feature to the dataview table is sadly far beyond my programming skill. If the author of dataview or the author of NLT extends their plugin in this direction. I'm very glad to update my template.

@laozhou-in-germany Thank you for taking the time to explore the possible integration. I will put in a request in the NLT github for integration with Dataview. There is another plugin I found called Obsidian DB Folder https://github.com/RafaelGB/obsidian-db-folder, maybe that one can be integrated with your setup and Dataview.

@OmniNaut , Thank you for mentioning the plugin "db folder". I've installed this and made some tryouts. This plugin provides more features to implement a notion-like table view. I'm very happy to see, that the two most important features formula and rollup are on the road map of the plugin author. With these two features, a user-friendly table view (also for systems like PPV) should be possible. I'll check regularly the progress of the plugin.

In the meantime, relationship, formula and rollups are implemented in the latest version of DB folder. Maybe some good stuff you can use.

I'm working on my own version of Bradley's PPV system in obsidian and use DB folder as the basis. Thanks for your effort and inspiration

Hi, can your version of PPV in Obsidian track subtasks?

OmniNaut commented 1 year ago

@caoyirui Unfortunately my progress is going slow. I have not started with the task management aspect of the project, subtask creating and tracking will be something I will keep in mind. I don't have much coding skills. I'm more a visionary then a builder. Once there is a product I feel comfortable to show, I will make it public on Github. This is a taster on what I'm working on image

I'm now more focussed on daily notes and periodic tracking. DAILY image image image image

For the tracking I want to combine health tracking from sport/smart watch. Nutrition and meal tracking and the normal weight/mood/exercise tracking. I even want to track brainwaves and intregrate them in the tracking as well
