Your guys project looks great so far! I can clearly tell the high level of effort and organization that went into the code. Below are a couple of things my group noticed.

• The table of contents in the beginning is really helpful and well organized. I like how you clearly define the project topic, goals, population of interest and deliverables.
• I think it was really impressive the scope of the project including keto, mediterranean and vegan diets. One thing I did notice in the code wasn’t I didn’t see different labels for the three diets. Not sure if you didn’t add that part yet or if you have different price data spreadsheets for the different diets. I would make sure to make this clear in your final project or if you narrowed down the diets before coding?
• One thing I noticed was that in your population of interest you noted Safeway is more affordable than Trader Joe’s. Our group found on average for keto and produce/raw food heavy diets the opposite in our background research that Trader Joe’s is actually cheaper. I would just make sure to include evidence to support that claim in your presentation.
• If you have extra time I think it could be interesting to add more food options to your diet. Maybe try and aim for 50+ foods if you want to expand your scope.
• I really liked the picture you included in the “is your solution edible” part of the code. It was a really nice bold and clear way to clearly present your results.
• One error I saw in section [B] what is total cost for population of interest section. The result was the same as the price for one day. I think you simply need add another line of code and multiple the number of female students that follow that diet by $6.34 per day.
• Your code seems very complete and if you wanted to add more, I think it could be interesting to add some graphs to visualize the nutrients being provided by each food in your diet.
• All of the comments in the code made it very easy to read as well and all the comments walking through each function is wonderful.
• One thing I was wondering though after you finished the project was how would the cheapness of the diets changed if you only included vegan or keto foods. Would that still make the Mediterranean diet the same cost if the food data list only included keto foods? Or vice versa would keto be more expensive if your list included non-keto foods?
• I think the project is really good and detailed I would just elaborate on the “so what” aspect in your video. There’s a lot of great data but I want to know how this analysis is applicable today to Berkeley students. So I would just make sure to emphasize this point in your final presentation.

Overall the project looks great and its evident how much time and detail went into creating all the code and wide variety of diets you are comparing! Super impressed! I can’t wait to try your dish in class!

As you mentioned, we did create different price data spreadsheets for different diets before coding. We already uploaded these csv files to the same GitHub location as the coding file. You can tried to input those csv file names into the solution part one by one, to get the least cost diet according to the food list you provided. Sorry for the confusion.

We discussed about this during the class. We think the main reason is that the foods we included into our food list are different from yours, even though both of us have similar diet of interest.

Thank you for pointing out, but our topic is focusing on the individual level. Sorry for the confusion of the section title.
