I don't know if we already have this filed as an issue somewhere, but as of Mac OS 10.15 ("Catalina"), Apple no longer supports 32-bit binaries.
This means we cannot run the 32-bit distribution.
(Will was saying for years that we needed to get 64-bit support going. I had just managed to overlook this particular forcing factor.)
