While working on making the calibration jig, I calculated that the deflection of the bold holding the loadcells to be roughly:

65mm * (11 kN / (150 GPa * 19 mm^2)) = 0.25mm

Potential idea is to investigate making the top wood frame have a sunken hole for the bolts to shorten their length.

Pros:

Shorter bolt is proportional to more stiffness. Would make the contraption feel more rigid.
The wood would compress less as well.

Cons:

Optimal depth is harder to figure out - when does wood shear / deformation become significant? How does wood variation impact this?
Increased manufacturing steps & cost.
Unclear if the extra rigidity is worth it? Rigidity = premium feel, right?

Did a test today. I seems like it is a bit worse or maybe the same. Not worth it.
