black hat collector drones visually rapidly jump around and rarely trigger #1740

OS: Windows 10 game: DQ2 version: Universal DQ2 0.0.15 (Steam) (released 2021 February 2)

In the newly-released game version, the collector "drones" quickly bounce around very rapidly, like they're repeatedly deploying and un-deploying. The drones only rarely trigger and attack an enemy. They mostly only trigger when the enemy is adjacent to the collector. When the collector is recalled, the drones act normally to target a nearby enemy and attack. The fast bouncing happens even at slow speeds. At higher speeds, the drones aren't even visible. This happens for the drones available at boost levels 1-3 (higher not tested).

I tested on the initial level where you first gain the collector, as well as the first black hat level. After the computer was rebooted, the same problem occurred. The collector drones worked properly in earlier DQ2 versions.

Okay, so this feels like a regression? I'll check it out. Thanks for the swift report!

Reproduced and fixed! I'll pop out a version 0.0.16 today with the patch.

larsiusprime commented 3 years ago

Version 0.0.16 is live on windows. I'll push the linux build in a little bit.

Nathan-P-B commented 3 years ago

I confirm fixed in 0.0.16 (Windows). (I've only unlocked three levels, but all three orbit properly, and the two attack ones (1 seeker and 3 hunter) target and attack enemies. The second level, which heals allies, was untested.)

(Thank you; the broken unit rather increased the difficultly of some levels.)

Great :) Let me know if there's any more.
