Please update code to work with python3 #2

The proxy code is written for python2, which is now end of life. Would you consider updating your code to work with python3?

Probably not; I wrote this code 8 (!) years ago and I haven't even looked at it in ages. I'm going to archive this project, I think, but you're welcome to fork the project for your own use.
