Installed using the guide in CONTRIBUTING.md, have also tried AUR package.

This is the result, Flatpak applications are also messed up. I don't know where to start when troubleshooting this.

EDIT: After some troubleshooting and research, this almost is certainly an issue with gnome 43 as a whole. I have no idea the specific incompatibility, but it is probably one.

You should've followed the issue template which have some troubleshooting tips.

Also having this issue on multiple different gtk3 apps, mainly Tweaks.

It broke for me after the Gnome 44 update (Arch Linux, Wayland)

adw-gtk3 running fine here on Arch, GNOME 44. Use the adw-gtk3 AUR package and select the Adw-gtk3 as GTK3/legacy/fallback theme in Tweaks.

Dark variant also working fine:

grafik

Here is what it looks like for me (AUR package since the flatpak doesn't even show up after the 44 update)

Make sure you don't have multiple versions of the theme installed. Check in either ~/.local/share/themes/, /usr/share/themes/ or ~/.themes.

Make sure the GTK_THEME variable isn't set anywhere. And make sure ~/.config/gtk-3.0/gtk.css is empty.

mchlsbl commented 1 year ago

I checked everything, there aren't any duplicate installs. It's still broken for me and I really don't want to reinstall my whole system because of this

lassekongo83 commented 1 year ago

Uninstall any adw-gtk3 AUR packages. Delete any adw-gtk3 folder in ~/.local/share/themes/, /usr/share/themes/ or ~/.themes. Install the theme from the main branch: https://github.com/lassekongo83/adw-gtk3/blob/main/CONTRIBUTING.md

Run printenv. If GTK_THEME is present, then run: unset GTK_THEME.

Relog. If it's still broken, create a new user profile and install the theme. If it's still broken after all that then I guess you have an issue with graphics drivers/wayland/xorg, or something.

mchlsbl commented 1 year ago

Tried everything you said, it's still broken. Thanks though.

Same happened to me after uninstalling fedora package and downloading manually to get latest version, now it doesn't matter how I try to configure it, by installing packed version or getting it from latest release, I get the unthemed light selectors
