See #600. The response from LastPass officials is that the project is abandoned.
Hi, I work in the team that owns this tool, and I asked our management about this, and their response was a NO. So it's not abandoned and we will put effort into the PRs and soon. Thank you for your contributions! We really appreciate it.
@balintsera That is great news :tada: The response I got from LastPass support when I reached out to them less than a month ago was that the project was "inactive". Either way, great to news that the project is still alive.

This makes me happy! I was starting to think about migrating from Lastpass to something else since I use lpass
heavily for various integrations. :)

It's definitely good to hear this, especially in light of the response from LastPassHelp on twitter yesterday when I was having the troubles discussed in #604 :
due to the LastPass CLI application being an open source project we are not able to provide support for this application. We would recommend reporting any issues you encounter at https://github.com/LastPass/lastpass-cli/issues
The existence of the LastPass CLI was the primary reason I had for starting to use LastPass 5 years ago
Concur with the above...LastPass CLI is a critical part of the LastPass functionality. Its deprecation or end of support would mean I'd be looking for a new PW manager for both work and home.
@balintsera could someone from your team pin this issue? It might save from duplicate issues being opened asking the same question. #595, #598, and #600 were all opened recently asking the same thing.
@balintsera , it's been a month and a half since your comment that this project is NOT abandoned and that the PRs would get attention. I even saw a security vulnerability question opened up (#608) today. Last commit to master still shows as 8767b5e53192ad4e72d1352db4aa9218e928cbe1 , made on September 4, 2019.
If this is indeed being maintained, can we get some kind of regular status update in this thread please? @rsyring is right in that this should be pinned.
this looks like the most feasible way to contribute: https://github.com/lastpass-cli-fork/lastpass-cli/, for now.
2 years since the latest commit, there seems to be some problems they have.
I've been watching this thread for a while. The lack of support for this tool was the straw that broke the camel's back. I'm a 1password customer now. My personally family account won't mean much to you, but my advice to potential enterprise customers will.
lastpass-cli's on fire, and there's no driver at the wheel And the sewers are all muddied with a thousand lonely suicides And a dark wind blows
LogMeIn is corrupt And they're on so many drugs With the radio on and the curtains drawn
We're trapped in the belly of this horrible cli And the cli is bleeding to death
The sun has fallen down And the billboards are all leering And the flags are all dead at the top of their poles
It went like this:
The cli toppled in on itself Paying users clutching keyboards Picked through the rubble And pulled out their hair
The repo was beautiful on fire All twisted metal stretching upwards Everything washed in a thin orange haze I said, "Kiss me, you're beautiful - These are truly the LastPass days"
You grabbed my hand And we fell into it Like a daydream Or a fever
We woke up one morning and fell a little further down For sure it's the valley of death
I open up my LastPass Vault And it's full of bugs
I notice that this project has not been maintained in about 2 years, I would like to continue to use it, but I am concerned that one fine day, it will no longer work properly. So, can anyone comment on what is happening or is there a more modern version? My distro (gentoo) is about to remove it from the tree.
