We have had several Feature Requests submitted to us through our sales team. Since the WordPress plugin is so flexible, we would like to use it as a testing ground. Our goal is to implement these features into the plugin, track usage and gather feedback so that we can learn from our experience in the plugin before implementing these features into our core product. However not all projects will be possible to do in this manner due to the fact that they may require changes to the core product before implementing in the plugin.
The purpose of this ticket is to determine if the follow projects are possible to do within the plugin (with no changes to LaterPay itself). If a project is possible we will then create separate tickets for the specifics around the implementation.
1) Metered Wall
Many popular new sites have implemented a "metered wall" which allows for a user to read x articles free before the paywall is displayed. For this we would need to track the number of times a user reads an article and also create a new "paywall" design for the free articles.
https://laterpay.atlassian.net/browse/PRODUCT-329
If a user has not registered with LaterPay yet, adjust the paywall to be a "registration wall" where instead of requesting payment, we request they create a LaterPay account in order to gain access to that article. If they register with LaterPay, they get the article for free.
4) Discount by Purchase Behavior / Promo Offers in Dialogs
https://laterpay.atlassian.net/browse/PRODUCT-30 & https://laterpay.atlassian.net/browse/PRODUCT-281
Track a user's purchases and provide discounts to help them fill their open tabs or benefit from contributions.
Example 1 - A user has $4.75 in their cart. We need them to hit $5 to fill their tab & pay. An article is normally priced at $1.99 but for them we decrease the price to $0.25 to help incentivize them paying.
Example 2 - A monthly subscription is $20, a user has given $20 in contributions that month. Therefore the display a messaging thanking them and give them the same access as if they had purchased that subscription for the month.
