tvtunes video theme misses stop #1

I am using 2.0.3 of the Addon (god bless you for doing that btw), and Matrix 19.1 x64 for windows. Given: I have movies in separate folders with the same name as the movie and themes named theme.xxx in each movie folder. Problem: as I browse, only the first video theme that I encounter will play, and it will play to the end of that theme regardless of what movie I am browsing or even if I am in the movie folder (I can navigate to the main menu and it will continue playing). If I play anything else, like a movie, the theme will stop playing and the movie will start. I can manually stop the theme by pressing stop. If I navigate to a different movie with a theme, the original one will continue to play until it reaches the end of that theme, then the theme for the current movie will play (as if it was queued), but it flashes to full screen like the multi video theme bug. Audio themes seem to behave as expected. I am running windows 10 20H2. Things of note that I have enabled in Kodi are the nexttv pvr addon. I am also running the confluence skin. Other than that it is quite generic. O, I did install the LAV video decoder package in the OS.

for the log, I started Kodi (with debugging enabled already), Navigated to the TVShows, title section and hovered over an item with an audio theme, then moved to an item with a video theme, then another with a video theme. The audio theme played, then stopped when the next video theme starting playing as expected - but the video theme just kept playing even though the focus was on the next show. When the first video theme was done playing, the theme for the show that I was focused on started playing in full screen. I then navigated to the quit menu entry. kodi.log confluence

edit: I just noticed that the video themes ignore the volume setting, whereas the audio themes work.

Got no idea if you are seeing this but just install 2.0.4 of the addon on matrix and have a similar problem. maybe. This time, the addon throws a python error and quits when another video theme should start. The first one will continue playing to the end. Seems to have no problem with audio themes. Sorry for the late reply...haven't logged in to github in a while. Yeah, I have tried to fix the video theme problem multiple times, but so far I have been unsuccessful. I've asked about it in the Kodi forum, but I've never had a reply.

Thank you very much your great addon. I've been a proud and happy user of your TVTunes since ver 1.0.2 on Kodi Leia.

When I upgraded to Matrix, I've been having the same TVTunes ver 2.0.4 issue described by Johnny-longer in all Matrix versions.

I am wondering if there's an update on this issue.

I have been wishing to upgrade permanently to Kodi Matrix but kept reverting back because of TVTunes 1.0.2 working perfectly in Kodi 18.9.

I can't upgrade to Matrix... not without your TVTunes. It's really a must-have for me. ;)

I wish you can find time to fix the bug.

Looking forward to TVTunes ver 2.0.5.

You're welcome!

So far I've been unable to fix the video theme problem with Matrix. There is also a problem with Movie Sets not playing themes.

At least now I know there is no fix for it yet but I'll keep praying for it though.

Until then, no Matrix for me and I'll just continue to enjoy your TVTunes on Leia. ;)

Well, I tweaked the formally dead "tvmelodies" and have it working on matrix - actually it will work on both python 2 and 3 releases. It has a lot of potential issues - such as: if there is more than one "themexxx.xxx" file it will hang, it will only play the theme in the root folder of the show (show folder, not a prob for movies, but stops playing when transitioning to a season folder (unless there is a themexxx.xxx file in there too). Volume adjustment is absolute volume, not relative (not an issue if you use an external amp and just leave the volume on your pc all the way up all the time).
the fork is https://github.com/Johnny-longer/script.tvmelodies - smitchell seems to be unresponsive so.. dunno. I just wanted my themes playing and still be able to use NextPVR to push live TV to all my PC. it is a program addon, not a video addon like tunes. TVTunes is way better, I hope it gets fixed someday.

Yeah, there are a few things with TV Tunes on Matrix that I just can't fix...the video theme continuing to play and themes not playing for Sets. Someone smarter than me is going to have to take a look. I've asked for assistance on the KODI forum, but so far no replies.
