Feature Request: White Uniformity correction with this tool #39

Some large LCD panel will suffer from different white point and brightness at different screen position. I wonder if there's a way that utilize the tool in DisplayCAL of white uniformity check to correct this effect?

I think a full screen "mask" will work, but I don't know if there will be any perfromance issue.

It can be done without measurements if you can find a software able to overlay an image on the desktop. You take a photo of a white (or gray, I don't know which is best) display and use that as a mask to "remove" display uniformity problems. It won't be math accurate but it'll work. Unfortunately I couldn't find any software that lets you overlay a photo over the entire desktop with a blend mode. I read about this idea on many forums, some people suggested to use OBS Studio with shaders to capture the desktop and overlay anything on it.

It will inevitably create more issues than it's worth. If the white uniformity of your LCD panel is that bad you notice it even in general use, RMA it and get a better panel.
