Investigate ways to control Aref (and motor current) dynamically. It is currently controlled via a pot on the DRV board. Possibilities include

Made some measurements using gigapan board, which seems to confirm this idea might make sense. With motors on but not moving, the board draws 0.5A, but during movement this surges to 1.3A.

DRV8880 has current control (25, 50, 75 and 100%)
