@jlm323 I talked to @setriplette about our idea to compare Decameron editions and decide which to work with. She recommends a couple of good test passages to look at in evaluating whether an edition was "expurgated" or toned down: 2.7 3.10

@setriplette I'm just adding this from your post to the Decameron GitHub: "For tales of contact in the Mediterranean, start with 2.7, 2.9, and 10.9. Others that will fit your theme and give you things to map are 2.3, 2.4, 2.9, 5.1, 5.2.

3.10 is considered the most scandalous story in the Decameron (as I had guessed) and translators often expurgate large portions of it."

@jlm323 Have you still got that Dropbox link to the old Decameron project files? Let's take a look at them and work out a plan for the team to work on markup together...

I do still have the link for the old Decameron files! Should I share the link here?

ebeshero commented 8 years ago

@jlm323 You could sift through those files and push the ones you think we might want to work with on the project into this GitHub...(or just make a directory here in this GitHub of old Decameron project files...)

@jlm323 You may want to create a folder titled Old_Decameron_Files or something instead of having them sit on alone in the main GitHub directory. Just a suggestion!
