Speech input failed #9105

Environment

Joplin specifics: 2.12.3 Platform: Android OS specifics: 13

Steps to reproduce

  1. Click "Spracheingabe" (speech input)
  2. ...Failure: "When wanting to make a speech input for the fitrst time, it tries to download the language file and seems to fail. Error message "Failed to create a model".
  3. ...

Describe what you expected to happen

Yes, I expected a possibility for speech input! ;)

I'm not seeing any errors in, only successful attempts to download and load the models, and I also can't replicate locally. Is it still happening? If so please provide a screenshot of the error

Hello @laurent22 , I sent you the screenshot by responding to the github email, did you get it? If there is no cure for my problem, and I am the only one on the planet with this issue ;`) , is there a workaround with which I could download and implement the file? Thanks and best wishes

...a documented error classified as "closed"... ok... that´s "creative"...

I'm reopening although I cannot replicate this bug. The log shows that it's mostly working - it downloads the model and at least starts to load it. I wonder if it has something to do with the device.

By the way, does the app has permission to access the file system?

Thanks for caring. I understand that there are many devices, OS's, options. I do not know where I could see whether the app has this permission. I only see the usual permissions in the app settings on android re. camera, notifications, micro, place which I set on during usage of the app. I see no option to set the access of the file system, sorry. Is a workaround for this inserting a URL in the language option in the Joplin options? And if so, which URL could it be? Thanks.

Same issue here on a Pixel 6a running Stock Android 15. Unfortunately I have no idea how to debug this. I granted all available permissions to Joplin, but it didn't solve the issue.
