Defect #66

Open GoogleCodeExporter opened 8 years ago

GoogleCodeExporter commented 8 years ago
What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Launch installer. Go to sources. Tap 'Edit', then tap 'Add'. Enter
'http://repository.ripdev.com' then tap 'Ok'
2. Now from the installer, install 'Mobile Enhancer' and the 'CallData' apps.
Mobile Enhancer is required for the
CallData app installation. After this, install the Call database of the country
of your choice. Trinidad was not in the
list so I had to download the app from rapidshare
(http://rapidshare.com/files/84608278/CalldataTrinibago.zip.html) and install
it manually via SSH to /System/Library/Frameworks/AppSupport.framework/:
replacing the calldata.db file in the iPhone.
3. Reboot the iPhone.

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
The expected output was for the Phone app's recent calls tab to display cities
and the countries that calls were
received from or made to when you tapped the blue arrow next to a number.

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
I am using:
8GB iPhone
1.1.2- activated and Jailbreaked and not on the AT&T network.
iTunes 7.5.0
Mac OS X 10.5.1
The apps I have on the iPhone are the stock ones that came with the iPhone in
addition to:
Installer v3.0b8
Customize
Term-vt100
iSolitaire
iSnake
SendPics
Pushr
VNSea
MusicQuiz and Flashlight.

Please provide any additional information below.
When I tapped the MobileFinder app, it launched and for a while the springboard
appeared to be frozen. I tapped
the apple icon in MobileFinder and got no response. After 10 seconds, no
applications were not showing up. Only
the blue-grey MobileFinder UI. After a couple of seconds, the application
crashed and the iPhone rebooted for
itself.
I then restored down to 1.1.1, used Independence to get out of restore mode,
installed OktoPrep and upgraded to
1.1.2 and jailbreaked with the Java jailbreak. When I was setting up the iPhone
in iTunes, I set up using a backup of
my iPhone because I had some text and notes that I needed to get back. I tried
the Mobile finder and it still did not
work. I reinstalled the Calldata app and the MobileEnhancer in installer and
then uninstalled them. I then Reinstalled
MobileFinder, tried to launch it and it rebooted the iPhone again. I
uninstalled it and tried installing a backup I had
and that too did not work. I uninstalled it and am now here sending you this
hoping that it can be resolved. I do use
it frequently. Also, I checked if the Mobile terminal was affected and it still
runs fine without any problems.

Sorry to hear about your difficulties. I'm not sure what the immediate problem
could
be. Likely MobileFinder is attempting to open a location that no longer
exists.
This is the second post I've gotten that could be linked to MobileFinder opening
non-existant folders. I'll check it out.

Try using ssh to delete ~/Library/Preferences/com.googlecode.mobilefinder. It
will
reset MobileFinder to defaults.
