Can't see settings or create new folder #9

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. open finder up
2. hit settings
3. black screen appears

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
should see a settings window

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?

.8.0  on 1.0.2
Please provide any additional information below.
I can create a new folder but when I go to rename it, it doesn't save the name 
change.
