If you have an image set as a background and decide to remove it, you're not able to modify the image settings (darken, stretch, parallax, position etc.). The reason this is an issue is really with darken. If you remove the image, darken will still apply and so a white background will display as grey with no option to remove it.
The way around it now is to select a background image, turn off everything and then remove the image - obviously not ideal but a workaround until it's fixed.
I assume that a fix would either be to apply image settings only if a background image is provided or clear image settings if a background image is removed.
