I stumbled here looking for the Top Bar on multi-monitor functionality, since someone asked for it in Open Bar issue.

And since this issue is still open here, maybe I can help: The error says that the code's target Gnome version does not match with installed Gnome (mainly pre vs post 45). As I understand, Debian is not on Gnome 46 yet (max 44 I guess) even if it says so in settings. Run this command in a terminal to find correct Gnome version and then install corresponding version of the extension. gnome-shell --version

Oh that makes sense.

If only folks read the README.md, they'd seen that there is a specific branch for Gnome 44 (https://github.com/lazanet/multi-monitors-add-on/tree/gnome-42_44)...
