For my future reference:

File common.texi is missing. It must be recreated somehow or the whole chain fails
Document requirements to generate docs: texinfo, perl and pod2man (not sure where this is from)
Test that each file is reported in the right folder. Ideally deploy the html as a gh page, and link it from README.md
