  1. If we select another language, nothing changes. Is this because we haven’t translated the homepage yet or are we dealing with some kind of bug?
    1. To us, it seems a bit unclear what ‘connect with colleagues’, ‘read and discuss publications’ and ‘create exposure for your work’ are doing there. There are no active links. Are these merely placeholders? Or should these correspond to the tabs called ‘events’, ‘news’, ‘publications’ and ‘groups’? If so, this should be a bit more clearly.
    2. At this point, the name of the organization is nowhere mentioned. We would like to see the name of the organization in or next to the logo in the correct language, depending on the language selected by the user.

  1. You would expect changes in the menu and the user interace. Also, static content should change the language. You will not see different events or new on the frontpage. Otherwise we would end up with massive differences between the different languages. It should work, but we don't have translation so you can't see it.
  2. I think Johannes already provided some changes to the wording and they act as teasers and correspond to the activities you can expect at the website. This is an important part and we should all agree to this before launch what wording we use. The current version can not be used in this way. Mainly because they are far to similiar to another webpage. (read: copycated)

  1. I found this in th charta docs:

The titles are rather long. It could be possible to use the short version like DiscourseNet below the logo. The long version we can implement in headline on the frontpage.

@SinghJN: What are the name of the organization you would like to be used?

SinghJN commented 6 years ago
  1. OK
  2. OK
  3. Yes, let's try to use the shorter versions (DiscourseNet, DiscoursNet, DiskursNetz, DiscoursoNet, ДискурсМрежа, Дискурснет, خطاب نت) under the logo, according to the language that has been selected. The longer versions, including the subtitle (for English: DiscourseNet: International Association for Discourse Studies - We are an open network for anyone active in the field of discourse studies. We aim to create an open, multilingual, inclusive and non-hierarchical space.) should appear at the centre of the homepage, as it is right now. PS: is there anyone available for Arabic translations? I don't have a language administrator for Arabic. Also, what are the two Cyrillic scripts? Serbian and Russian? Who is doing Serbian? Jan K.? Isn't Дискурснет a one-to-one transliteration of DiskursNet?
