5 years ago restarted 0.35 and it came up and prompted to update. clicked update and was told it's already installed by the package manager, so reinstalled.
After reinstallation, started lbry up again and it appears to be working and not prompting to upgrade again.

5 years ago Glad to hear it worked and sorry about the trouble. Looks like it had some issues with a local file while installing - might be related to your machine. Closing for now and will confirm it works on Linux.

5 years ago yeah, it's a newly-built debian 10 box. This is more for reference than anything, especially since I didn't see it with 0.34.2. The update was bumpy and even clearing everything out and installing 0.35 by itself, I was still getting the conflict. Ultimately, it's working regardless, but something to be aware of.

Also, can you clarify that you started 0.35 after this error and it prompted to update again?

5 years ago Ah, maybe you were missing sudo in the dkpg command? Try that?

sudo isn't the issue, I was root at the time root@mojojojo:~# dpkg -i /home/drock/Downloads/LBRY_0.35.0.deb
When I have a spare moment, I'll try to track down where /usr/share/applications/screensavers/glitchpeg.desktop comes from (i.e., what .deb provides it) and see if maybe there's a corruption there of some kind.

Debian 10 64bit install of 0.35.0-6875 fails
version LBRY_0.34.2.deb works fine
