See https://github.com/r-lib/desc/issues/118 for the details. It can be reproduced with https://github.com/lcolladotor/biocthis/blob/master/vignettes/biocthis.Rmd#L128, that is, pkgdir <- biocthis_example_pkg("biocthispkg", use_git = TRUE).
