Mac install and startup #8

Need to finish the Mac install and auto startup.

Mostly done, but guess what? Mac rsync doesn't work with other rsyncs, primarily because of that stupid, c. 1983 idea about resource and data forks in a file.

Well, the way to fix it is to install Macports so you get a more modern rsync.

You need to download Xcode. You can use an existing AppleID fairly painlessly for this, even if you're not the regular user of the machine you want to install on. It's a big download, however, so go make breakfast while you're downloading. Then you need to run the GUI once, partly to get past some more legalese, but mostly because the command line tools don't come by default. You need to go to Preferences and on the download tab, download the command line tools. Then you're ready to install Macports, which then allows you to install rsync.
