This isn't as easy to calculate as first imagined.
There is no inbuilt stata command to calculate the incidence rate of a variable, so will need a stata script to do this instead.
Script By wave, calculate the number of people who develop a chronic illness THAT WAVE ONLY. This means finding the number with illness before, and then number with illness after. Remove those who die, and calculate the proportion of new to previous cases.
Incidence rate included, script to calculate incidence is in FEM_R/
Add incidence rate in brackets after prevalence:
Cancer Prevalence (Incidence) - 9.7% (1.5%)
Could also add few more rows for other important chronic diseases - Lung disease, stroke, hypertension etc.
